Those who wake or watch or weep tonight
Lord be with those who wake or watch or weep tonight
Being awake all day what a sight
Be with those who weep for the dead
For all the things that were not said
I pray for those who awake to disaster
Hold us close to your side dear master
They watch tonight for a soul to pass by
Wipe their tears as they cry
Have you ever had to set up through the night, with someone who you knew could die at any moment?
It makes for a very restless night.
If you have ever been a caretaker, there is an online journal out there just for you. It is also for people who suffer from chronic diseases or who have recovered from major medical problems like cancer.
It is the Barefoot Review. http://www.barefootreview.org/winter2012.html#symanntha_renn
I have a poem in the newest issue.
