mascara cakes my eyes
but I still see
how the words should be
I have been rejected by lots of journals and reviews, both online and print. I have had my friends totally miss the point of some of my favorite poems. But I will keep going, because I still have thoughts coming to me that could be twisted into poetry form.
We write the words for their own sake as well as our own, not for the sake of others.

Ditto that! Rejection doesn’t matter- And friends not understand teaches us to translate better, and so long as we’re doing what we love…that is, writing, nothing else matters.. Keep it up. Many journals kick themselves later, for having rejected poets who later are successful. they are only people behind those desks, not gods. And they are subject to great error!!!
