I think books are just as important to children as toys and helmets and learning to use a computer.
What do you think of this challenge so far?? Leave me a comment!
I think so too! People always comment on the fact that my son is so articulate- I tell them it is because I have read to him since he was three months old.
The truly great photographers, like all great artists, understand the haiku of photography. But they nearly universally cannot explain it. Attempts to analyze and explain what makes a photograph great ultimately fail, but they often produce certain rules that seem to correspond to our understanding of what makes art, what conveys information, what shows intent.
Here’s my comment, rather belatedly:
Books are very important to a child’s play and development. A teacher once told me about a boy who started Grade One and he’d never been red to, never held a pencil in his hand. He didn’t know what the pictures were in books, like duck, clown, etc. That boy had a lot of catching up to do!
I love books. Reading is fundamental. 🙂 http://holley4734.wordpress.com/2013/08/01/day-5-30-day-photo-challenge/

I agree! My kids are all well-spoken because they were read to from age. Reading to kids helps so much when they start reading. 🙂

I agree, I think that the books children read play a part in helping them become the person they will develop into as they mature.

Yes, I try to be careful about what books I let my son read. Thanks for commenting!
