I am going to change Wandering Wednesday a little bit.
I have a lot going on in my life right now, and I think it would be easier on me, if I change the way I do Wednesdays. For a little while I am going to post Emily Dickinson poems on Wednesday instead of my poetry. I am always unsure of which poem to share with you guys. Will you like it? Do I really want to make it public or try to get it published? So I decided to not worry about it by posting someone else’s work. I am also going to stop stressing about attaching the right picture.
I really like Emily Dickinson. I have a book of her complete poems. Now like every poet or artist, I don’t love every poem of hers. When I read through this book, I took a little piece of paper and wrote down the number of the poems that I really liked. Emily wrote 1,775 poems in her life. Some of these are re-workings of the others, which means there are two version of the same poem.
I have favorited 69 of them and I am going to share them with you in chronological order. They are in the book in the original way they were written by her and that is how I will post them here on my blog. The book is titled The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson and is edited by Thomas H. Johnson.
I will post my longer poems again, but for now I will let Miss Dickinson entertain you. Her poems are not titled, but numbered.
