RIP Hailey Owens
I wrote this haiku, on this day last year, when a local girl was abducted, raped, and murdered. I am posting it on my blog for all of the little girls and boys who never made it home.

a beautiful remembrance for Hailey – still hard to believe there is such evil in the world and so close to home.

Springfield has gotten really rough in the last couple of years. I am glad I live in a small town.

We live about an hour south – and it has gotten really bad lately – seems like a murder a day now.

Yes and a fire every week. Joplin has a lot of theft but it is not as bad as Springfield.
