Cobwebs on My Soul

Cobwebs On My Soul

As I clean here in this quiet house,

I pray to the Lord:

“Lord please knock the dust off of my heart.

help me to be passionate again,

to speak for the hurting souls

who cannot speak for themselves.

Clean the cobwebs off of my soul

and give me a purpose.”

Did you know that the bumblebee should be incapable of flying? Scientists don’t know how they do it.

I have gained weight in the last two years, and I have not lost it. But I have had good changes in my life too. I am surviving. It may not be pretty, but I am surviving in this world.

Day 24 NaHaiWriMo 2017

flower bud

the frost kills it

hope delayed

Today’s prompt was “in short” and we were supposed to write a minimal haiku. I can do sad well, so I did a short haiku about being sad. My hormones are messed up right now and the dreary days make me sad.

You can follow me on Instagram and Twitter and Facebook.

Day 17

the night dark and cold

but she rises anyway

full moon shines brightly

Today’s prompt was “moon”. I have written so many moon haiku, but tried to give it one more shot for today’s challenge. This poem is about perseverance.

Just in case I get too busy today to post a haiku, I will post a haiku that I wrote in February 2015. But do check back for new haiku poem tonight. I wrote this while going to see my best friend’s baby.

Haiku in the Sunlight

sunlight falls on
half of the flowers
the nominated grow taller

I wanted to share some extra haiku and get you guys excited for National Haiku Writing Month. Are you going to share what you write every day this year? Where will you share it?

sunlight on flowers, sunlight on snow, sunshine on frozen plants,

Incompetent Haiku

call him early
or call me incompetent
we were in God’s hands

I have been reluctant to share this one because I am not sure what to write with it. I guess since I believe 3 line poems are powerful enough to stand on their own, you don’t need an explanation. I will say that my baby boy was born at 37 weeks, and was just days past being “premature.” Statistics say this is why he is slightly asthmatic.

The New Year will arrive soon!
Be safe. I challenge you to make 1 New Year’s Resolution. Maybe you need to write more, maybe you need to read more. You definitely have growing to do. Decide which areas you want to grow in.
